Tutorial: Piggy

Body & Snout

Usa a pink ball of wool and begin by tying a slip knot. Make sure not to close the knot completely and close the sling with a sling crochet (SlC). Cover the result, a ring, with 5 single crochets (SC) into the hole. When you are done, make sure to draw the loose string tight so that no hole remains. Increase the number of crochets in the next row by doubling them in each previous crochet (=10 crochets). Row three is continued with one single crochet and one doubled crochet per previous crochet in turns (=15 crochets) and row four with two crochets per previous two crochets and a doubled crochet per previous crochet in turns (=20 crochets). Continue to crochet single stitches for the next rounds, then decrease accordingly (subsume two crochets into one). Do not forget to stuff the piggy with batting before you close the body.

To create the snout, stop when you have decreased to about 5/6 stichets. Continue with one single crochet per previous crochet for about 2 to 3 rounds. Then decrease.

Feet

Start with the above-mentioned ring, but only increase 2x in the first round. Then crochet one more round. You end up with a half-open ball that you can sew onto the body with its open side. Repeat 3x.

Ears

Start with a row of 6 SlC's and one additional SlC. Turn and decrease already with the first two SC's (repeat it at the other end). Decrease accordingly until you only have one crochet. Add one into this crochet.

Tail

Start with a row of about 8-10 SlC's. Crochet the first and only row with SC's but do your stichets around the string, not in a straight manner.

Finish

Glue on the eyes, sewn on all the parts and sew on a mouth in blue wool. Voilà, you're done!
